I am a Cloud Solutions Architect working with predominantly large enterprises. I design solutions to business problems with an eye on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency. I am passionate about what I do and advocate the best practical solution for all my clients, whether that be Cloud foundation design, Cloud monitoring, Automation, or a migration operation.

As an open-minded rational thinker committed to his work, I set high standards for myself in all my projects. I am thorough and reliable. As a result, I am a good fit for any team.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities as Senior Cloud Architect (May 2021 - Present) include creating the architecture and design of cloud foundational services to deliver the cloud strategy in AWS. Taking an enterprise view of the consumption of cloud services across Legal and General and helping improve our ability to gain total value from cloud services while ensuring that we do so securely and in line with regulatory requirements. Adept at designing Cloud foundational and shared services that align to use cases and establishing standards based on best practices and repeatable processes. Playing a significant role in defining, maintaining, and communicating the cloud strategy and technology roadmaps to achieve the strategy.

Responsibilities as Interim Head of Cloud (Dec 2021 - Apr 2022) include having the overall accountability for the Cloud Business Office (CBO) – its decisions, risk acceptance and value realisation, ensuring that the CBO works effectively collectively. It also involves taking a broad view of the Cloud across the group and assessing and presenting Legal and General's overall approach to the Cloud across both Azure and AWS. Ensuring the smooth running of the CBO, identifying issues and leading resolutions to these bottlenecks and challenges.

2017 - 2021

Responsibilities:
As part of my role, I design & implement Cloud solutions. I also lead small to medium technical teams to achieve project goals.

I have a proven track record of delivering results and building relationships with key customer IT decision-makers at clients like Centrica, Swiss Re, The AA, Aspen Insurance, and Oxford University Press.

My areas of responsibility also include:

  • Cloud readiness\migration assessment
  • Understand customer needs and requirements (via workshops, meetings, etc.)
  • Cloud foundation design and implementation
  • Infra design, Blueprinting, HLTD
  • Presenting Technical Solutions at the client Technical Design Authority (TDA) forum
  • Design Proof of Concept programs

2014 - 2017

Responsibilities:
I was one of the team members who implemented the move of the Commenting and Moderation platform used by BBC Sports, BBC News, etc. from on-premise to Azure. Built, designed, and delivered high-quality, high-volume, high-availability, and high-performance cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure based on a multi-region N-tier application architecture design pattern. I worked closely with the operational support teams to ensure technical solutions were designed and delivered to meet standards, particularly regarding scalability and reliability.

2008 - 2014

Responsibilities:
I built websites, windows services and console applications. Designed, created, and optimized databases; configured database maintenance jobs; and worked with stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers. My other responsibilities include liaising with clients and assisting in preparing system/design / functional specifications, developing effort estimates, and providing technical support. I also assisted with the preparation of technical documentation and performing code reviews. I provided development effort estimates and ensured projects were completed on time and within budget. I took up the role of DevOps to determine points where the system could be improved or optimized for better customer experience. I have also been vital in introducing ITIL-based good practices to the team.

2005 - 2008

Responsibilities:
I was the Application Support Specialist for Windows and Web-based applications for Cognizant's London-based client, IMS Health UK and ensured critical production applications were always available. I mentored junior team members to upskill them so they could take on more responsibilities and action support issues confidently and quickly. I was the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and made the Onsite Coordinator for the team between the client (IMS Health UK) and the Offshore team. I significantly enhanced specific Windows and Web applications and SQL reports. I produced technical documentation from a Support team perspective when required.

I build, test and deploy software based on the specifications received to deliver business outcomes

Responsibilities:
My role included providing technical support to Dell's Corporate customers based in Europe, Middle East and Asia. I was also involved in mentoring certain team members.
